Internships PDF Print E-mail

So much more is "caught rather than taught"! Hands-on learning is the learning that we remember best, and to that end, we offer internships that are highly practical in nature, coupled with on-the-job teaching and debriefing. We offer various types of internships.

Avalanche and Blizzard
Our event-based internships are a key component of our internship strategy.  Using our Avalanche and Blizzard retreats, interns can focus on one of 3 key ministry areas: recreation, session production or administrative & guest relations.  As well, team captains are also selected to lead one of our 4 regional teams (Moose, Blast, Storm, Ice) as well as develop their leadership skills.  Applications are now available by downloading the intern application or the team captain application.  NEW: This year, we also have online applications available.  Click here for the internship application and here for the team captain application; the recommendation form is also available by click here.

Springforth - CBYouth Leadership Exchange
CBOQ Youth partners with our other Canadian Baptist affiliates to provide event-based leadership development opportunities (serving in one another's regions) and mutual mentoring opportunities (where there's specific learning drawn cross-regionally).  You can download the application here or use the online application form (references can use the referral online form).

Education Internship
CBOQ Youth also offers an in-office educational program where an intern, pursuing a career in professional ministry, works alongside our CBOQ Youth staff for 4-12 months.  This is an opportunity to get a "behind-the-scenes" look at how organizational ministry happens, to hone one's administrative skills and to fulfill some personal learning objectives. Applications for the spring term will be made available in March 2012.
